Position: Quality Engineer

Location: South Yorkshire

Duration: Permanent

Salary circa: £30,000 - £35,000 DOE

Position Overview

Our client is a manufacturing company based in South Yorkshire who manufacture mechanical handling equipment and due to growth are currently looking to recruit a Quality Engineer.

The prospective applicant must be experienced and able to demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge in the preparation of Quality Control Plans & Inspection Test Plans.

They will be able to generate the above-mentioned documents from customer supplied specifications, drawings and supporting documentation.

They will be fully capable of taking them through from initial concept to client approval. Once QCP & ITP's have been approved by the client the Quality Engineer will compile & collate documentation in a timely manner.

These operations will run parallel with the component build and be structured in line with the customer's expectations.

On completion of the project manufacture the life time quality records shall be legibly structured, presentable and ready for client approval.

Essential qualifications & experience:

* Experience in a Fabrication, Welding and Machining Environment is essential.
* An auditor with experience and an accredited qualification that enables them to conduct ISO 9001 system audits both externally and internally.
* Work closely with other departments to resolve technical and documentation issues
* Must be forward thinking, with a proactive approach in all matters concerning quality.
* Liaise with all interested parties on potential NCR's and customer complaints, resolving & closing them out in a professional amicable manner.
* Expertise in problem solving techniques such as root cause analysis & 8D.
* Capable of working on their own initiative, whilst always looking to promote & implement internal improvements to the QMS where mutually agreed beneficial.
* Good communication skills with the ability to work with & for the quality manager as and when required.
* A sound working knowledge of word & excel computer software.
* A good understanding of NDT and allied processes would be desirable.
* Capable of developing & managing the company calibration system
