Manufacturing Systems Engineer - £35,000-£40,000: Automotive, Aerospace, manufacturing or IT

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will assist in the maintaining and developing work standards, Work Allocation Reports & supporting all Manufacturing Business Office related activities for current model.As a result of the growth of our business we now have a fantastic opportunity to join the Manufacturing Business Office team on the St Athan project as a Manufacturing Systems Engineer.

For the first 6months you will be based at the Gaydon site in Warwickshire - moving permanently after training to St Athan.

Your purpose

You will support and develop the many systems that enable the production of our exquisite cars, by liaising with Quality engineers for functionality and product specifications, in order to specify configuration of vehicle details within the Flags software.
You will provide advice and assistance to production technicians, maintenance and systems in relation to system requirements and specifications. Controlling and collating electrical RFT data and data collection methods to provide the business with the information required to improve electrical RFT.
You will Investigate the use of new technologies whilst supporting existing production tools such as Flags & RFID. Whilst evaluating Flags system and look for improvements, to ensure new model content is updated prior to launch.

Your experience
To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate a strong logical approach in bespoke software configuration. Well-developed analytical, technical, interpersonal, client service and communication skills are key to the success of the role as is attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to understand source data structures.
Previous experience in creating stored procedures, functions and triggers for various business requirements, experience of data management and analytical skills will be highly regarded.
Exposure to the following software systems will be a distinct advantage:
* SQL/SQL Management Studio,
* Knowledge and used all latest features in T-SQL
* SQL Azure
* .Net and MS SharePoint Development and integration with SQL code
* MS Visual studio 2012 onwards
* Advanced skills in Excel,
* Intermediate-Advanced skills in Visual Basic for Automation.
* Flags,
* EASE,
* Goldcrest DC Tooling
* Siemens PLC

Previous experience working in a relational database environment (SQL Server), writing queries, analysing data and exposure to reporting concepts and tasks (operational or functionally) as well as preparing and presenting information to end-users in different formats will be well regarded in those applying for this role.
In addition, we are seeking someone with previous responsibility for writing complex queries with optimal performance as per the business requirements and maintaining coding standards with version history
