Senior Electronics Verification Engineer Hampshire, UK

£40-45k + bonus

This is a great opportunity for an experienced electronics engineer to join an expanding electronics company in Hampshire. The role has been created to fulfil the need for a dedicated verification team to work alongside design engineering teams and manage the process of test and verification.

As a senior electronics verification engineer you will technically lead other engineers and technicians, support the company during type approval and process reviews, and analyse test results, produce reports and feedback to the design teams.

You will need a strong background in electronics test gained within a product development / research environment as you will be required to develop test methodology, procedures and processes from electronics design requirements.

The role would suit an experienced electronics test engineer with experience of developing test procedures as part of a product design and development team working to stringent safety critical standards and approvals.

Skills / Knowledge:
• Ideally a HND / degree or higher in a relevant subject (e.g. electronics engineering, computer science, physics etc)
• Extensive experience of performing tests on analogue and digital electronics, analysing results and producing test reports, within a product development environment
• Good communications skills (written and verbal), able to produce technical reports and present validation processes to internal teams and external bodies
• Ability to develop test methods, processes and procedures given product requirements. This will also include the specification of test rigs and appropriate equipment
• Organised, analytics and able to work autonomously, manage own projects and provide technical leadership
• Knowledge of environmental testing, EMC and type approval processes would be preferred
• Experience of root cause analysis, FMEAs and six sigma would be useful

Others: (beneficial skills)
• Experience of highly regulated / safety critical electronics systems (e.g. medical devices, automotive, avionics, rail, intrinsic safety systems, ATEX regulated, SIL etc) and appropriate standards
• Knowledge of high volume manufacturing
• Any knowledge of wireless / RF / IoT would be useful and would Sensors and instrumentation (e.g. heat, gas detection etc) EMC testing or Optical electronic systems

This position reports to the engineering manager. You will be responsible for the design, development and execution of tests in order to verify and validate products meet appropriate requirements and design specifications.

You will need to be able to develop test processes and procedures to ensure robust adherence to stringent safety critical / highly regulated approvals and regulations.
