Position: Team Leader
Location: Great Finborough, Suffolk
Contract type: Permanent, Full-time
Hours: 37.5 per week
Salary: £19,449

About the Role:

We support five individuals with learning disabilities, living in a cluster environment in their own homes. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Team Leader with patience and a good sense of humour, who can act as a role model and take the lead in promoting a needs-lead, outcome-focussed service and who can demonstrate the ability to support teams in challenging environments.

As the role is split between management and rota support, you must be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including shifts covering a 24 hour rota pattern, sleep-ins and some weekends and bank holidays. A full UK manual driving licence is essential.

About You:

To be successful in the role you will be an experienced Support Worker who has previously worked with adults with learning disabilities. You will be an effective communicator and be able to develop strong working relationships and promote and create a person centred culture within the team. Knowledge of support planning and risk assessing, as well as a strong track record of achieving outcomes for individuals, will be an advantage. A QCF /NVQ in Health and Social Care Level 3 is desirable, or a willingness to achieve it.

You need to be positive and committed to supporting and improving people’s lives through person centred approaches and team work.

To reach your full potential in this role you need to have the right values in working with people, leadership skills and be able to work as part of a team. You need to be a good role model and lead by example. You will work alongside staff to develop their confidence and skills to provide excellent support, through feedback and coaching.

As part of the management team you need to have excellent communication including verbal, written and IT skills and be organised, and plan your time effectively.

It is hard work but amazingly rewarding to see the development of the people you support and the staff that support them.

You will be willing to learn and try new things, through training and team work.
