Acorn Finance and Accountancy is recruiting on behalf of a busy, well established Practice providing accountancy, business and tax services with a client base operating in several industry sectors.

Role Summary

This is an Accounts Assistant role based in Newport. It is a full time, permanent role, circa £25,000 (negotiable depending on experience).

Typical Activities (not limited to)

* Preparation of annual accounts to review stage for sole traders, partnerships and mainly SME Limited companies
* Preparation of draft corporation tax and income tax computations
* Preparation and submission of VAT returns
* Bookkeeping and management accounts preparation
* Use of various cloud accounting software packages (e.g. Xero, Sage, Quickbooks )
* Preparation of personal self-assessment tax returns
* Running payroll for a selection of clients - approx. 20 per month. This would likely only utilise around 2 days per month of the candidates time
* Liaising with clients as and when necessary

You will be working alongside the Partner, who can assist you in achieving your qualification guiding and mentoring though-out the remainder of your studies. You will be part-qualified ACCA / ACA, or near qualified. You may have a particular interest in Taxation. You will have 'hands on' experience of accounts preparation, gained in an Accountancy Firm.
