Purchase Ledger Administrator £21,000 Redditch

THE ROLE

* Maintain an accurate purchase ledger system for appropriate companies
* Be able to raise payments in accordance with the company's internal control guidelines
* Keep control of petty cash
* Process and pay expenses in accordance with the company's policy and train people to use the expense reporting system

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Ability to process supplier invoices and credit notes, ensuring that they are:

* Authorised in accordance with the internal control guidelines;
* Coded correctly; and
* Numerically are correct

* To maintain the supplier accounts in the ERP and payment systems, ensuring that all changes are appropriately checked and authorised
* Reconcile supplier accounts and statements on a regular basis, resolving any differences
* Liaise with suppliers in a professional and courteous manner
* Co-ordinate with other areas of the business to ensure that invoices are processed in time for the month end closedown
* Prepare payments when required, ensuring any ad-hoc payments are appropriately authorised and checked
* Reimburse petty cash expenses on production of an authorised claim
* Provide analyses of expense types when requested and vehicle service records
* Administration and maintenance of CIS sub-contractor accounts
* Cover for other purchase ledger staff in their absence
* Other duties commensurate with the skills and experience of the person in the role, including assisting other members of the finance department.

REQUIREMENTS

* Numerate, literate, and well spoken
* Well organised and methodical with the ability to work under pressure at times
* Able to communicate with suppliers and colleagues in an assertive and confident manner
* Have previous purchase ledger experience
* IT literate with systems experience with reasonable excel skills
* Flexible, hardworking and honest individual who can work as part of a team
