CORE PURPOSE:
To provide assistance to the Team Manager and other assessors and course tutors for the delivery of vocational (NVQ) courses. To assess learner NVQ progression on a regular basis (frequency/planning set by learner’s progress).

RESPONSIBLE TO: TEAM MANAGER

MAIN DUTIES
•To conduct a skill scan for every learner/employer vacancy and determine suitability of programme delivery.
•To assess vocational subjects on specified courses.
•To ensure that the training provided is appropriate to the learners training and development needs (as assessed and recorded on the ILP).
•To set SMART targets to ensure timely learner progress.
•To register learners with the appropriate awarding body within the required timescale (56 days – (example of best practice).
•To liaise with employers to ensure experience in all aspects of competency qualification.
•To assist learners with the production of work based/e-portfolios. Allow learner/employer access to e-portfolio.
•To assist learners with cross-referencing of evidence to unit criteria as necessary.
•To undertake timely workplace observations where appropriate.
•To provide colleagues with up-to-date information on a regular basis to allow accurate tracking of learner progress.
•To maintain accurate and up-to-date learner files, assessment and other documentation as necessary.
•Maintain safety standards and safe working practices in accordance with CTS and industrial guidelines with respect of employers and learners.
•To implement and promote CTS policies and procedures.
•To participate positively in course, standardisation, individual, team and organisational meetings and activities.
•Maintain working relationships with IQA/EQA.
•To participate positively in staff development activities and maintain a CPD file for professional competence in area/s being assessed.
•To participate positively in the recruitment, enrolment, monitoring and assessment of learners.
•To maintain and promote close links with learners, employers and schools.
•To ensure equality of opportunity during the learning process.
•To market and promote the company at every opportunity.
•To attend and participate in marketing opportunities, conventions, open days and school events as appropriate.
•To participate positively in the appraisal process and use feedback as a development opportunity.
•To participate positively in the self-assessment and development plan process.
•To contribute formulation and subsequent delivery to the organisations’ business plans and work diligently to meet set targets (individual/team).
