Full time Permanent Monday – Friday role for a Ledger Maintenance Co-ordinator to work within the Accounts Payable dept. of this large corporate company situated on the Charlton Kings side of Cheltenham To accurately download, maintain cashbooks & reconcile bank accounts on a daily basis, post payments and receipts journals. Perform weekly payment runs and daily manual payments. Set up vendor accounts in a timely manner.
Run and maintain debit balance & unallocated payment reports. . The role will largely involve downloading & reconciling bank accounts, posting payments and receipts journals, Running payment runs and ensuring debit balances and unallocated payments are being cleared by the purchase ledger team. In addition, the role will manage the purchase ledger and vendor maintenance email account, incoming and outgoing post and any requests for payments outside of the weekly payment run. Salary £20,000. Key responsibilities will include:

• Bank downloads
• Post all payments & receipts to the ledgers
• Maintain the cashbooks
• Bank reconciliations
• Make payments (BACS, ACH, SEPA & TT)
• Raise cheques (Manual & Computer)
• Set-up, drawdown & maintain forward contracts
• Set-up/amend new vendors & changes to bank details
• Ensure that unallocated payments and debit balances are cleared within a month – with the exception of pro-forma payments
• Ensure that Invoices on hold are being cleared
• Opening Purchase ledger post
• Maintaining and distributing the purchase ledger/Vendor maintenance email inbox
• Raise interest invoices for sales ledger
• Post sales ledger cheques (only at month end)
• Post nominal ledger & purchase ledger cheques.
• Set-up/amend/cancel direct debits & standing orders
• Set-up/amend/cancel open credit facilities
• Assisting with checking and scanning of batches for purchase ledger

Knowledge & experience required

• Good knowledge of Excel
• Good understanding of Finance or AAT qualifications
