The UK's largest water and wastewater services company who supply 2.6 billion litres (570 million imperial gallons) of drinking water per day, and treats 4.4 billion litres (970 million imperial gallons) of wastewater per day are seeking a Risk and Control Analyst to join their expanding team in Reading on a fixed term contract until September 2018.

As a Risk and Control Analyst you will:

• Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with each business area, with all levels of staff up to and including executive and the senior leadership group.
• Support stakeholders with ad-hoc advice and guidance on the design and implementation of controls to manage business risks.
• Lead or support the execution of compliance reviews (2nd line of defence) and controls testing from planning through to production of a final report with findings agreed by all levels of internal and external stakeholders as applicable.
• Liaise with other teams in audit and assurance and have input to plans for assurance reviews and controls testing and the design and construction of the annual audit plan.
• Support the audit and assurance management team with development and maintenance of robust stakeholder relationships to support targeting of assurance activity at areas of highest risk.
• Proactively contribute to raising the profile of audit and assurance to support delivery of insight and value to all stakeholders.
• Support on audits and investigations as required to deliver flexibly within audit and assurance team.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Proactive and self-motivated with a probing, investigative and analytical mind-set.
• Strong project management and excellent relationship management skills.
• First class communication and presentational skills, including the ability to communicate complex compliance issues to non-specialists.
• Strong commercial awareness.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and change and have strong influencing and negotiation skills.

Having a recognised qualification in one of the following disciplines would be advantageous: risk management, internal audit, compliance and finance.
