Electrical Maintenance Engineer - Medical Devices - Permanent Day Shift - Todmorden

SRG have an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their clients Medical DecuceEngineering Department.

Our client is looking for an experienced engineer with the relevant electrical and engineering qualifications to assist in the maintenance, upgrade and replacement of equipment as and when needed. Their requirement is for someone with an electrical bias who is comfortable working with control systems, switchgear panels, motors, sensors etc but some hydraulic knowledge would be an advantage. The role will be of interest to individuals who have good communication skills, are methodical and meticulous in their work and like a challenge.

Experience of calibration and hydraulic systems is not a requirement but would be advantageous.

* To schedule and undertake periodic maintenance on all equipment, components, and installations so as to prevent production disruption.
* Provide quick response to equipment breakdowns and resolve issues in a timely and correct manner (occasional evening and weekend call-out emergency service).
* Installation of new electrical equipment and associated fittings.
* Recommend replacement for old or faulty electrical components or fittings.
* Assist in the forecasting requirements and creation of a budget for the engineering department.
* Make suggestions for continuous process improvement and energy cost reductions.
* Keep accurate records of work carried out and ensure the Quality Department is informed.
* Provide a safe working environment for members of staff and ensure electrically induced accidents are prevented.
* Learn new skills and attend training programs as necessary in other areas to increase knowledge and best working practices.

* Methodical and meticulous in approach to his/her work.
* An effective communicator and a good team player.
* Conscientious and has a self-disciplined approach.
* Excellent in time management and multi-tasking.
* Good with written and verbal communication in English.
* Capable of producing high quality written material by hand and using computers.
* Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

* Four or more years in a maintenance position
* Apprentice Trained or equivalent with NVQ Level 3 - City & Guilds ONC/OND/HND/BTEC Electrical equivalent minimum
* Familiarity with IEE wiring regulations BS7671 17th edition
* Industrial manufacturing background
* Experience of control systems an advantage (i.e. Single loop controllers or PLC's)
* Knowledge of Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation
* Full UK driving license

* Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 8.00 to 1.00pm which includes breaks
* Due to the nature of the work, you may be expected to be flexible with regards to working hours and breaks to enable the best efficiency and utilisation during the daily period
* Duties and hours may vary dependent upon workload

Rate would be between £15-17.00 per hour.

Must live within a 20 minute driving radius from site (due to call out emergencies)
