Community Pharmacy Wales is seeking a home-based Funding Analyst / Manager to join its expanding team where you will receive flexible working hours.

Community Pharmacy Wales represents the owners of the 700+ pharmacies in Wales on all matters relating to the NHS Community Pharmacy contract dealing directly with the Welsh Government’s Department of Health and NHS Wales on their behalf and negotiating the contractual terms for the provision of NHS Community Pharmacy Services across Wales.

As the Funding Analyst / Manager, your duties will be to:

• Ensure effective mechanisms are in place to ensure that the agreed level of funding is delivered to the contractor network both at a national and at Health Board level; Provide analysis and information to support CPW’s work.
• Manage the provision of timely and accurate advice and information to Welsh Pharmacy contractors.
• Identify Contractual Framework issues of concern to community pharmacy contractors in Wales
• Ensure provision of information to contractors on Drug Tariff, reimbursement and retained margin matters.
• Prepare high-level reports for different stakeholder groups, including the Cost Survey for Wales, prescription volume trends in Wales.
• Represent CPW at meetings e.g. local partnership boards and other stakeholders/bodies.
• Conduct further funding analysis as required.
• Conduct special projects as required.
• With reasonable notice, to support other members of the CPW Executive team, where the temporary cover is required in the event of absence or peak workload.

To be a successful Funding Analyst / Manager you will have the following skills and experience:

• A good understanding of public-private health services provision, including knowledge of the key drivers and environmental pressures currently shaping the sector.
• A good understanding of community pharmacy including knowledge of key drivers and environmental pressures currently shaping the sector.
• Prior working knowledge of the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework within Wales.
• An excellent and demonstrable track record of working with large commercial and/or financial data sets to gain insights and that influence organisational policy and development.
• Experienced Microsoft Office user and proficient in the use of databases and spreadsheets to manipulate relational databases.
• Experience of NHS datasets.
• Degree-level, professional qualification in finance or data management – or qualified to that level through relevant experience.
• Use of Microsoft Publisher or similar software to provide effective presentations.
• Ability to travel to Cardiff on average once per month with some very occasional travel to contractor meetings at different locations across Wales.
• Experience of presenting to professional audiences.
• Flexible in working pattern wherever possible – although CPW would also aim to be flexible around other work commitments with reasonable notice given. More hours may be available; however, this is dependent upon performance.
• Media experience.

In return, the Funding Analyst / Manager will receive a salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, pro-rata, dependent upon skills and experience
