Adecco Recruitment are currently recruiting for on behalf of our client, an experienced Legal Secretary to work for a leading Solicitors office based in Lancaster. Salary dependent on experience.

This is an immediate vacancy, so we are organising interviews with a view to start ASAP.

The working hours are Monday - Friday, ideally 9am to 530pm and benefits include 33 days paid holidays including bank holidays.

JOB DESCRIPTION - LEGAL SECRETARY

1. Required qualifications, skills and experience
1.1. Trained in secretarial practice.
1.2. High word-processing and audio-typing skills.
1.3. Preferably previous experience as a legal secretary or experience of working in an alternative professional office.

2. Role
2.1. The prime role of the legal secretary is to provide direct support to fee earners to enable them to operate at optimum efficiency. This will include but will not be limited to the main responsibilities given below. The legal secretary is expected to use a high degree of self-management and initiative.

3. Main responsibilities
3.1. To prepare correspondence and documents through audio-typing and word processing.
3.2. To administer filing which will include daily filing and the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files in accordance with the detailed procedures contained in the Quality Manual.
3.3. To prepare mail and enclosures for despatch.
3.4. To arrange for all copying to be done.
3.5. To make appointments and arrange meetings.
3.6. To prepare the meeting rooms for meetings as necessary and responsibility for the tidying and clearance of the room at the end of the meeting.
3.7. To provide refreshments when asked to do so.
3.8. To provide support to other secretaries as required.
3.9. To provide guidance to junior and temporary secretaries when required to do so.
3.10. To attend clients both in person and on the telephone and to provide such support in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the firm's standards for client care.
3.11. To undertake any specific training when required to do so and overall to have a responsibility towards self-development.
3.12. To ensure the confidentiality of all the firm's and clients' documentation and information
