Our client is an award winning, charismatic and highly-motivated leading supplier of industrial products, who are looking for a dynamic, positive and hard-working Buyer to join their growing team.

You will be responsible for building and maintaining supplier relationships, assessing tenders and quotations from potential suppliers, purchasing goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.

Duties will include, but not limited to:-
- Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers
- Negotiate supplier margins and improve pricing
- Develop creative and innovative procurement processes
- Competitor analysis
- Facilitate product testing and standards
- Future foreign buying
- Negotiate directly with suppliers to get the best possible pricing and payment options
- Conduct routine supplier business reviews, evaluating supplier performance and compliance
- Update and maintain spend sheets
- Negotiate contracts, improved prices and TOB with suppliers
- Review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods
- Build relationships with suppliers and manage their performance
- Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement

Our client requests you to have the following characteristics/requirements:-
- Confident
- UK Driving Licence is essential
- Self-aware
- Excellent at building and maintaining effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers
- Analytical, numerically astute with strong proven problem solving abilities
- Able to embrace personal challenge
- Commercially and financially aware
- Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Assertive, optimistic and open to change
- Results oriented with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
- Resilient, self-motivated and able to work well under pressure
- Able to engage interest and participation of others and has a collaborative approach to working with others
