Project Manager, Project Engineer

Location: Oxford

Salary: £40,000 - 50,000 + benefits

PDQ are partnered with a high technology business based in Oxford that are creating a next generation power source for consumer products. With several global brands already behind them, they are creating a technology that is going to evolve products within our homes and workplace.

Now looking to add to their team with a Project Manager/Co-ordinator to contribute to a range of internal and external projects across the business – this will be a very hands on role and require excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of organisation.

The role functions:

  • Work with the relevant groups to define the scope and requirements for projects, e.g. customers, government /EU funding bodies, certification agencies, sales and engineering teams
  • Produce, distribute and manage project documentation
  • Ensure projects progress to plan wherever possible and escalating and resolving any issues as they arise
  • Prime point of contact for project-related queries
  • Support visits and trials
  • Co-ordinate supplier & sub-contractor activities as required
  • Project debrief and lessons-learned activities

Day to day you will:

  • Create documents, using own knowledge and input from others, including - Project proposals, plans, budget, reports, timesheets, expenses, risk assessments
  • Monitoring project progress and co-ordinating activities according to the project plan
  • Contributing to project activities as defined by the project plans, including Testing Documentation, e.g. Reports, User Manuals
  • Providing regular project updates to stakeholders, including chairing meetings
  • Maintain the archives for project records
  • Collate project-related quotations, raise purchase order requests, progress orders and carry out goods-in checks for supplied products and services
  • Support external visits both on-site and off-site, e.g. customers, suppliers

About you:

  • Degree or equivalent
  • Expertise in Microsoft office and other software used in project context
  • Familiarity with risk analysis techniques
  • Relevant project coordination experience
  • Engineering background would be an advantage
