The Product Co-ordinator is a new administrative focussed role based in a company that sells electronic safety and leisure equipment to the automotive and commercial vehicle industry.

The coordinator will ensure that products sold by the company are bought and dispatched in an efficient and systematic manner. The successful candidate will coordinate the development, delivery and distribution of new and existing products.

Responsible to: Technical Director

Working alongside: Logistics lead, warehouse assistant, technical department

Core functions:

1.Introduce a product management system to progress product development systematically

·Identify product requirements based industry standards (e.g FORS)

·Liaise with suppliers on production and delivery requirements

·Work with the marketing director to provide information for quotations

·Make sure that all product/ service ‘packages’ have everything incorporated to ensure they are fit for purpose and professionally packaged

·Manage the requirements for and production of, product packaging

·Ensure all products/services have complete and easy to read manuals

2.Support post production and after-sales technical support and solutions

·Liaise with factory on problems arising through design or production faults and fails including modifications to the manufacturing specifications

·Liaise with supplier on improvements and modifications specified by customers

·Ensure all products, product packages and service packs have inventory sheets for warehouse and sales staff to work to

·Regularly review pricing and terms with suppliers

3.Supervise the returns and warranty procedure

·Work with warehouse, technical and admin colleagues to ensure returns are processed and managed according to returns and warranty procedure

·Monitor, review and report on returns coming through the company

·Identify emerging issues and faults by monitoring returns

4.Help to identify, source and negotiate terms for new products and services

·Collect intelligence from colleagues on customer demands, industry requirements, competitors ranges, new product lines, emerging areas of business, market trends and emerging technology

·Assess market competition by comparing the company's product to competitor’s products

·Keep up to date with industry intelligence (products, trends, standards, legislation etc) through trade magazines, networking events, trade shows and other sources

·Identify suppliers and negotiate supply terms in liaison with the marketing and sales function

Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Attitudes (Essential /desirable):

Essential: Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Essential: Fluency in written and verbal English and excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Essential: Experience in coordinating role, working with colleagues from different disciplines

Essential: Understanding customer requirements and providing customer service

Essential: Positive can-do attitude

Essential: Willingness to succeed as part of a team

Essential: Ability to use computer programmes such as word, excel, databases, SAGE or similar

Essential: Proven experience in at least some of the following: writing reports, manuals, presentations, manipulating images, use of images in written documents, formatting documents for ease of reference etc

Desirable: Industry knowledge/ work alongside Chinese companies

Desirable: Experience of coordinating the development of new product lines

Desirable: Experience in stock control and management
