Looking for a temporary Payroll Assistant to cover staff absence to start immediately for a minimum period of 6 weeks in the Newcastle area.
Experience of preparing payroll is desirable but not essential.

Pay Rate: £9.50 an hour
Hours: 37 per week

Strong attention to detail and excellent IT skills in particular MS Excel are required for this role. You must demonstrate a flexible approach and provide assistance to fellow team members as and when required. Good inter-personal skills and telephone manner are essential.

Duties include -

To create and update HR/Payroll system master data records relevant to payroll matters eg tax codes, bank details, union deductions and other subscriptions upon receipt of appropriate authorisations.

To input sickness information onto HR/Payroll system taking appropriate action when system generates warnings or information regarding University sickness entitlement or Statutory Sick Pay.

To process additional payments to the HR/Payroll system in order to facilitate the payment of: Expenses, Overtime, Teaching and Demonstrating and Monthly Hours Returns.

To undertake general administrative duties including filing and scanning documents.
