The Company: Our client is a registered charity, dedicated to improving the quality of life for older people, who are currently seeking a General Manager at their new development located near Winchester which encompasses a care home, dementia-friendly apartments and a community hub. 

This development has been specifically designed for people living with dementia and their partner, supporting couples to remain together in dementia-friendly apartments, with access to a state of the art care home for nursing and dementia care. 

The Role: As a General Manager, you will manage all aspects of the home, including identifying new business opportunities, effectively managing budgets, taking responsibility for the operating profit of the home and ensuring compliance is met and maintained across all relevant areas.

The Candidate: To be considered for the position of General Manager, you must have relevant care management experience, particularly in a large home, and experience of working with those with dementia. A thorough understanding of compliance and governance is essential and you must have a sound background in working with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This is a ground-breaking new development which is the first of it's kind in the UK therefore our client is seeking a General Manager with an outgoing personality, a drive to make a difference, a welcoming nature, and the ability to become the face of the home. 

Essential Candidate Criteria:

• Relevant care management experience, particularly in a large home 
• Experience of working with those with dementia
• A thorough understanding of compliance and governance
• A sound background in working with the CQC
• A demonstrable ability to perform consistently and maintain a high standard of work 
• An outgoing personality
• A welcoming nature
• Ability to be the face of the home
