A vacancy has arisen for a qualified electrician at our Darlington bus depot to assist in the maintenance and repair of our fleet of 90 vehicles to the highest standards as set by the company and DVSA. The successful candidate will be a motivated team player who can work effectively unsupervised and use their own initiative.
Principle duties will include fault diagnosis and rectification with a first time fix policy. You will possess knowledge and experience of the following (preferably gained within the PCV / HGV industries).
Automotive electrical systems, circuit diagrams and components including starting, charging & multiplex systems
Use of multi-meters and other test equipment
Basic mechanical engineering knowledge
An understanding of routine maintenance schedules
An understanding of the standards required by DVSA
The successful applicant should ideally have served a recognised apprenticeship and possess a suitable qualification (e.g. C&G, NVQ level 3). Any experience of the following products would also be an advantage: Cummins, Mercedes, Allison, Voith, ZF, Alexander Dennis & Optare.
You must possess a full UK driving licence. A PCV or HGV licence would be preferred but training to obtain a PCV licence is available after a qualifying period.
This is a full time position and you will be required to work 39 hours per week over 5 days. The hours worked are in accordance with the depot rota and include some weekend work.
