Job Description

Manage a Small Team where SW's Hold Duty 1 in 6 Weeks

A London based Local Authority is looking for an experienced Assistant Team Manager to join their Assessment service. This is a largely stable service with an established team and a locum currently covering the post. As a part of the LA's drive to bring on more permanent staff this post is now being recruited to.

  • Social Workers cover duty 1 in every 6 weeks so have time to clear off cases
  • Excellent Early Intervention service and well resourced LA
  • Small Team of around 4 Social Workers
  • Local Authority received a Good Ofsted

The Local Authority places emphasis on building and developing effective relationships so that staff are able to really identify and address the main issues in each case. As such caseloads are low and remain low so that Social Workers can focus on their cases. Additionally Duty is held once every 6 weeks which gives staff the opportunity and time to address their current cases and clear them off before being allocated any more.

As a manager within the team you will be managing a small team of around 4-5 Social Workers, you will also have the support of a Business Support Officer who will be on hand to assist with any administrative tasks. The size of the team means you will on average have to give just over 1 supervisions sessions per week, this effectively mean you can focus on the operational management of the team as well as developing the staff.
