What you’ll be doing Join our business at a time of exponential growth, be a Senior Carer (Nights). The personal support you will provide to every one of our residents, as a Senior Carer (Nights), is deeply challenging but also extremely rewarding. Helping individuals who sometimes are unable to fully support themselves. You will be responsible for our resident’s emotional, well-being and social needs. As a Senior Carer you will assist residents to positively influence their lives and optimise their independence. You will get to know them and their every personal need ensuring that their care plans are person-centred and delivered. Their close and extended families will be important to them and getting to know and building lasting relationships with them will be as important to you. So, how do you make this happen? You will; Ensure the delivery of quality of care by continually assessing and recognising and facilitating the daily requirements of the residents Order and administer medicines as required in accordance with policies and procedures Develop, review and update care plans to meet our residents changing physical, social and psychological needs Promote high standards of care by ensuring all staff are supervised appropriately and shifts run in a smooth and efficient manner Promote the Home in a professional manner, by becoming actively involved in raising awareness of the Home within the local community Take an active professional role in promoting the services offered when dealing with relatives, prospective residents and enquiries Mentor and coach other colleagues,providing support, demonstration and instruction of care activities, particularly in relation to the induction of new staff. You will care for the environment that our residents reside within and contribute to making their overall home experience as pleasant and comfortable as possible. You will need to be able to attend to our residents needs and assist movement around the home, serving meals and beverages, supporting them during meal times and also through, washing, maintenance of personal hygiene and dressing. Helping to maintain accurate records, undertaking ongoing training and getting involved in welcoming and training new staff, you will be an integral part of our team and the home. Generally promoting our residents’ independence, choice, dignity and respect by delivering the very best standards of care. About you Ideally, experience in a care environment and an NVQ 3 in Care or working toward, although this is not as essential as your genuine desire to develop a career in this field. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing, and the ability to work well as part of a dedicated team. Demonstrable experience of mentoring and coaching colleagues. A naturally kind and warm-hearted, respectful, courteous and compassionate individual driven and energised by caring for others. You should be able to demonstrate initiative, ability to create and build relationships with residents, colleagues and residents families. Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice. A deep understanding of care planning processes and experience of writing care plans along with excellent planning and organisational skills. You must have the Right to Work in the UK.
