Group Accountant Our client is a people focused, family owned global business that provides a wide range of services to the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare sector. The business is the largest independent wholesaler in the UK with a growing international network supplying medicines to meet patient needs and providing a route to market for manufacturers. Trading in this industry since 1825, the business has a long-established reputation within the medical wholesale industry supplying both pharmacies and hospitals, growing organically as well as through acquisition. With turnover in excess of £250m and head office based in Salford, they have 600 employees, operating across ten strategically based distribution centres and offices in the UK, Middle East and Latin America. This is a new finance role that has been created specifically to support the business at this exciting time as it continues to grow in scale and complexity. Position: Group Accountant Location: Salford - near Media City Job Type: Full Time, Permanent Hours: Monday to Friday - office hours Salary: £Competitive Benefits: Pension / Life Assurance / Free Car Parking About the role: The Group Accountant will work closely with the Management Accountants for each of the businesses and will report directly to the Financial Controller. Responsibilities: - Produce timely, accurate, monthly consolidated management accounts including two overseas subsidiaries - Manage other group finance reporting requirements e.g. working capital / cash flow - Work closely with Management Accountants for each business to manage accuracy of group reporting - Review and manage key balance sheet account reconciliations on a regular basis - Ensure accuracy of intercompany account transactions including those with overseas subsidiaries - Manage annual budget process and produce group consolidated budget - Assist in the preparation of group statutory accounts - Work closely with external auditors including production of supporting schedules and resolving queries - Continuously update reporting processes and procedures to improve accuracy and timeliness of outputs - Handle ad hoc queries to successful resolution About you: - Qualified Accountant with high level of technical accounting knowledge - Experience of preparing consolidated accounts and dealing with foreign currency transactions is essential - Working knowledge of accounting for stock would be highly desirable - Excellent attention to detail, whilst also capable of understanding the bigger picture - Highly inquisitive, pro-active, and with a “can do” attitude – not frightened to roll your sleeves up and solve problems - Used to working to deadlines and managing work load appropriately - Comfortable liaising with all levels of the business, inside and outside of finance, as well as external stakeholders - A team player who can also work effectively independently You may have experience of the following: Group Accountant, Finance Manager, Accountant, Qualified Accountant, Management Accountant, Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Group Reporting Accountant, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, Financial Analyst, Finance Analyst, Financial Accountant, etc. This vacancy is being advertised by EasyWeb Recruitment, the UK’s leading Online Recruitment Agency.
