What’s the opportunity? Manufacturing UK is an integral part of the Operations Directorate whose principal mission is to ensure that MBDA’s deliverable commitments are met in terms of time, cost and quality. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Manufacturing Logistics Team Leader to support a multi-disciplinary team in Stevenage delivering development and production type hardware for various missile and test equipment programmes. The role requires you to manage a team of logistics coordinators who expedite material from requisition through to tested and inspected hardware. You will be responsible for developing the team’s skillset at interpreting customer requests, manage a supply & production schedule that meets a set of aggressive delivery targets and sustaining the required quality governance set by such accreditation as EN9100. In order to manage the workload the job will involve managing an order book of work that is both executed in-house and at an extended supply chain. You will be a supplier manager working along with procurement at developing a group of tier 2 suppliers to be effective at their management of cost, quality and schedule adherence. What will you be doing? Assessment of task directive work instructions, new or amended orders and their effect on inventory and programmes. Review potential work and support the compilation of bids & estimates. Maintaining the manufacturing bill of materials and project manufacturing strategy including make/buy decision. Management and supervision of logistics coordinators involved in the generation, maintenance, review and reporting of the production schedule and associated performance metrics against the baseline. Validates cost and schedule integration for offload program performance management. Resolves schedule conflicts, develops and implements work-around strategies and tactical alternatives. Develops solutions to problems of unusual complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation. Challenges are frequently unique and solutions may serve as precedent for future decisions. Point of contact for both Suppliers and Clients. Attendance and presentation of schedule Information for client and management reviews. Coordination for effective non-conformance management controls ensuring corrective action is taken by movement of hardware (eg. Assign for repair/scrap.) Monitor topical knowledge of inventory holdings to effectively manage and control financial implications. Proactive involvement in the development of deployed staff. Management of deployed labour performance and where appropriate use of company processes. Identify and implement process improvement for the business by leadership of team through working groups (CIAGs) where appropriate. Safeguard health & safety for deployed resources in accordance with company procedures and current legislation. There are no stores or warehouse activities in this job. What are the benefits for you? Proven track record in the application of production logistics techniques skills in a relevant business environment. Familiar at interfacing with suppliers.
