Description
  • As the Senior IT Network Design Engineer, you will make a significant contribution to the strategic development and design of the organisation's network infrastructure.
  • This will include areas such as wireless networking, IPV6, VoIP, multicasting, video streaming and security policy development in a large-scale multimillion pound network environment.
  • You will make a significant contribution to the development and design of the DNS and DHCP services, as well as network registration systems.
  • You will stand up and take the lead when called upon in a wide array of projects that investigate, develop and pilot various network infrastructure and services in line with IT Service Project Management procedures.
  • In addition to design and development, you will be responsible for high-level support, covering areas such as switches, routers, firewalls and network management systems in accordance with IT Services Incident Management processes.
  • As the Senior IT Network Design Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the organisation's passive infrastructure, including cabling systems across a large-scale site.


Profile

As the Senior IT Network Design Engineer, you will have:
  • At least 5 years experience in high-level network design.
  • Hands-on experience in the design of a network environment.
  • Experience of working within a disparate, organic network environment.
  • A strong understanding of wireless networking.
  • A strong understanding of DNS/DHCP.
  • Up-to-date accreditations in Cisco and/or Aruba, such as a CCNP.


Desirable technology experience includes:
  • Infoblox.
  • Brocade.
  • Aruba.


Job Offer

£40,000 - £50,000 + extensive benefits package.
