What impact will you make? The Opportunity As an experienced BI designer and developer you will be joining our BI reporting and analytics team within Deloitte IT Services to be part of an exciting and challenging transformation programme. Deloitte UK and North West Europe member firms are migrating onto a global SAP S/4HANA finance solution, with local reporting and integration solutions being built out on our local SAP HANA sidecar and data warehouse platform. We (IT Services) aspire to be the first place our internal clients and service lines turn to in order to meet their analytical and reporting needs. Your experience will help us to provide a first class service to meet the increasing demand and you will be an ambassador for our vision to be providing a single source of the truth for the business. Role description As a BI Senior Developer you will undertake ownership of the full lifecycle of reporting solutions from requirements through to implementation. Being part of an internal service team, you will also be responsible for providing third-line support for our existing solutions in line with your experience and skill set. You will be expected to continually develop your skills and be adaptable to learning new technologies where required. The role reports to the BI Team Lead. Location Your base location will be Milton Keynes, with flexibility to travel to our regional offices and London from time to time. Hours This is a permanent role and requires a minimum of 37.5 hours per week with agile working arrangements to be agreed in line with your manager. Responsibilities Working within the team of internal and off-shore report developers developing solutions using SAP (CATS, Travel Management, PS, SD, FSCM, FI, CO, HR, BPC and RMSS) and non-SAP data sources (CRM and Take-On Process, ServiceNow) and other Microsoft .Net based solutions. Scoping and estimating of new requirements Leading end-user and technical workshops Designing, developing and maintaining a performant data store (in SAP HANA) and ETL-based integration solutions Provisioning an intuitive and responsive end user reporting platform for the business with well documented analysis views containing agreed pre-calculated KPIs Working with BI team lead to develop the taxonomy of master data and definition of KPIs Act as ambassador and support for our central BI strategy Ensuring design of new applications meets the following requirement: Support activity remaining low thereby enabling the team to focus on projects and changes Aligns with industry and technology best practice and complies with Deloitte standards, external regulatory and statutory requirements Ensuring the capability for the on-going day to day support (office hours), and involved in resolution of complex incidents and problems. You will develop key relationships with BI Team lead, and other BI Developers within the team and product owners within Business Applications Business Relationship, Service Delivery and Architecture teams with IT Business Stakeholders: Partners, Finance Directors, Managers and end-users and Shared Service Organisation leadership Requirements Degree level qualified or equivalent through experience 5+ years’ experience in BI Application design and development Able to lead on complex projects and drive changes Motivated team player Analytical, logical, thorough, methodical and decisive Excellent interpersonal manner, communication skills & customer focused Able to consult with business users and stakeholders at all levels Workshop facilitation skills Knowledge of the key components of a full SAP business solution Understanding of technology/market trends and probable impacts Understanding of differences between Agile and Waterfall methodologies Essential Technical and Domain Skills: Excellent Structured Query Language (SQL) skills Hands-on experience of delivering reporting solutions and developing data stores utilising SQL views / relational data warehouse Understanding of the SAP data model and tables in core SAP modules such as Business Partners, Customer, Vendor, Projects, SD, S/4HANA Finance / SAP Simple Finance Demonstrable report visualisation design skills (e.g. Tableau, QlikView, SAP BusinessObjects toolset) Understanding of the principles of Financial and Management accounting Desirable Skills and Experience: Knowledge of the key business processes involved in running a professional services firm Experience of HANA modeling and building views in HANA Studio (using SAP latest recommendations for a HANA Data Warehouse) Understanding of SAP HANA SQLScript Understanding of SAP HANA Core Data Services (CDS) Understanding of SAP Data Services (BODS), and SAP HANA data integration technologies (SLT, HANA SDA / SDI) Knowledge of other data integration technologies and data platforms (SQL Server, SSIS) Knowledge of ITIL processes and methodology You are here: Internal Client Services Internal Client Services (ICS) contributes to the success of Deloitte through six departments: Clients & Markets, Finance & Legal, Human Resources, IT Services, Property & Corporate Services and the Shared Services Organisation.
