Solutions Engineer (DevOps) - Cryptocurrency (financial services) - London

Due to continued growth we are looking for a solutions engineer with a DevOps mentality. This position would suit a gifted technologist who is keen on taking ownership and making a substantial impact in a fast moving and creative Fintech startup environment.

Responsibilities and requirements:

The role encompasses all aspects of the technology lifecycle.
  • To support and ensure the availability of the trading platform and supporting infrastructure and environments.
  • To perform and manage the release process of builds to QA and Production environments and automate release builds and workflow.
  • To respond to incidents and problems as they arise as well as providing support and troubleshooting for production and development systems.
  • Participate in architectural design and system refactoring to improve resiliency and performance.
  • Define disaster recovery procedures and business continuity processes.
  • Plan for future capacity and proactive monitoring of systems performance with ownership of these tools.
  • Continuously improve the team, tools and processes, support regular agile releases of applications and architectural improvements.
  • Contribute to the development of our continuous improvement process and DevOps culture.
  • Work with other teams across the business to develop the platform and technologies, striving to automate whenever possible.
  • Create and maintain documentation of business processes and systems.


Key skills and experience:
  • Strong Linux System Administration experience (Redhat/Centos) along with troubleshooting at operating system and network layers. Security experience is essential.
  • Cloud hosting technologies (AWS)
  • DevOps mentality demonstrating strong configuration management and automation skills.
  • Firm believer in, and experience with, testing frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL/MongoDB desirable)
  • Experience hosting, maintaining and troubleshooting Java, C++, Ruby and Rails applications (desirable).
  • Experience working with CDNs and web application firewalls.
  • Ability to deploy and configure monitoring and alerting systems and record incidents.
  • Ability to deploy and configure status dashboards and visualisation systems.
  • Administration and management of backup systems and awareness of DR processes.
  • Management and application of operating system and security patches.
  • A strong analytical background, ability to think practically and proactively propose solutions.
  • Strong believer in best practice as an eventual goal but able to make pragmatic shorter term decisions to achieve business goals.
  • Detail oriented with high awareness of system specifics and great visual memory.
  • Ability to drive projects forward, proactive and motivated to succeed.




We are based in the City of London

Salary: £55,000 - £75,000 + Bonus/ Benefits
