Position: Technical Energy Consultant Location: Stoneleigh, Warwickshire Contract type: Full Time, Permanent Hours: 37 hours per week Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 per annum Closing Date: 22 February 2018 About the Role: They are looking to add Technical Energy Consultants to their team, to support all aspects of their work. You will be working extensively on renewable energy systems, improving energy efficiency and mitigating environmental impact of energy use. They work with their commercial clients to devise, implement and improve energy systems that reduce costs and are environmentally superior. You will lead and support research, analysis, and evaluation of projects in the energy sector for their clients, focusing on energy improvements. You will engage with stakeholders through both quantitative and qualitative survey and technical-economic analysis tasks. You will also be involved with third party organisations to help improve and define policies within the UK energy sector. About You: The successful candidate will have at least a bachelor’s level degree in engineering or related discipline and at least 3 years’ professional experience, ideally in a consulting environment. A good knowledge and experience of the UK energy sector is essential, as is an understanding of renewable energy systems and energy efficiency technologies in commercial applications. Additionally, you will have an interest in broader energy efficiency and environmental impacts and an understanding of climate change mitigation measures. You will have strong quantitative analysis capability and experience in working in multi-skilled teams and responsibility for junior members. You will also need to be fluent in spoken and written English. An understanding of heat de-carbonisation and/or de-centralised energy supply and storage technologies and their commercial deployment would be a distinct advantage. It would be beneficial if you have technical skills in assessing heating and cooling technologies and an understanding of energy efficiency/renewable energy financial mechanisms. An understanding of the UK energy efficiency/renewable energy policy and support frameworks would also be an advantage.
