Project Planner - Basingstoke, Hampshire - £55k + car allowance + 15% bonus

Project Planner is required by our impressive FTSE100 client. This is a role that will see you move into a very fast paced environment working on a diverse array of genuinely stimulating projects.

To support the Programme and all related workstreams and projects, as part of a PMO, to design, develop and own the Evolve Programme Plan ensuring that all milestones, internal and external dependencies are identified, logged and monitored. Working with Delivery teams to maintain the plan, schedule and dependency information in accordance with best practice.

In addition:
  • Providing assistance to the Programme Manager and Project Managers relating to planning maintenance and quality
  • Implementing the overarching PMO planning policies and procedures and ensuring they are embedded and adhered to
  • Support the provision of resource management across the programme
  • Report progress against schedule, providing progress metrics and comprehensive schedules in various formats and levels of detail to meet the needs of diverse users or audiences

  • Work as part of a small central team tasked with implementation of the programme
  • Ensuring work-plan management and control using MS Project 2013. Supporting the Project Managers in setting up and maintaining plans, tracking progress and reporting variances. Take ownership of tracking Programme milestones and updating the Programme plan
  • Setup and administration of MS*Project Server system for the programme
  • Ensure that planning outputs are mature and comply with governance requirements and meet requirements of scrutiny and assurance.
  • Analyse / challenge the validity of any supporting schedules submitted by 3rd parties which will contribute to the programme plan
  • Establish and operate mechanisms to track delivery against the plan, including critical path analysis, milestone tracking and monitoring percentage completion against specific tasks compared to baseline, and tracking of dependencies.
  • Identify and manage relevant interdependencies and interfaces between work streams, projects and other Programmes

Required Skill Set:
  • Demonstrable skills in creating and maintaining project and programme plans, including risks, actions, issues and dependencies
  • In depth knowledge of Planning methodology and the utilisation of tools to support
  • Ability to process large amounts of information, working with programme / project leads and others to identify gaps and resolve ambiguity
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively at all levels and with all functions of the business
  • Advanced knowledge of using Microsoft Project 2013
  • Expert knowledge and experience of setup and administration of Microsoft Project Server
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Excellent written/spoken communication skills
  • Diplomatic with the ability to influence others
  • Excellent facilitation skills with experience running planning workshops
  • Good analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail

Qualification and Experience:
  • Experience and certifications in the use of MS Project 2013
  • Experience of the setup, maintenance and administration of Microsoft Project Server
  • Experience and certifications in any of the following are highly desirable: APMG P30, MSP, MoR or other PMO qualification.
  • PRINCE2 experience working in PRINCE2/MSP environments for medium to large projects.
  • Proven PMO track record in the planning projects within large or complex programmes
  • Highly organised and proactive with the ability to prioritise in a high pressure environment
  • Experience of influencing, managing and aligning stakeholder expectations, and managing the typical strategic issues that need to be addressed within a planning context
  • In depth and broad experience of shaping, translating, leading plans based on operational and external market knowledge
  • Experience of end to end Change Strategic Planning within a fast paced programme context
