Mechanical Design Engineer (Solidworks), Kettering, £25,000-£36,000

I am working in partnership with an independent and privately owned company who have been specialising in fluid dispensing technology for over a century. I am currently supporting there recruitment for two Mechanical Design Engineers.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer on site you will be responsible for both new design projects as well as modifying current products. There is two opportunities based on this exact spec.

The role involves the generation of CAD drawings and models using Solidworks and Autocad also required preparation of machine BOMs in Excel; Continual evaluation of existing products and generating concepts for new products. Technical coordination with colleagues, customers and suppliers; A good technical support for workshop engineers during system builds; The skill to create supporting documents. e.g. Risk assessments, manuals, specifications,design changes; A good Constructive input into project kick off and review meetings and throughout the process maintain Design department directories.

You'll play a key role within an existing small team of Mechanical Design Engineers working collaboratively together producing accurate engineering drawings followed by builds of materials and been creative with all ideas.

There is a great opportunity for progression within this role in terms of both personal skill development and career development with a transparent structure within the department. You will need to be a strategic, analytical thinker with a solid technical background and will require the ability to work on several projects simultaneously.

Key Skills
-HNC in Mechanical Engineering
-Expertise in 3D CAD mainly Solidworks and Autocad.
-Designing special purpose automated machinery.
-Taking product designs from concept to manufacture.
-Technical/Design office background

-IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
-Ability to analyse technical data and make decisions independently.
-Value engineering.
-Familiar with pneumatic components and circuits.
-Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines and budgets.
-Working within a ISO 9001 quality system. (preferred not essential)
-Working to ATEX directive. (preferred not essential)

25k to 36k per annum
5% contributory pension
23 days holidays plus statutory holidays
