My Client is a multi level market retailer based in central London . Due to growth in the market place they now need a 2nd in command in finance, with the view to take over from the Head of Finance and Operations in the future.

This role would suit a hands on qualified accountant who is open to a long and rewarding career with my client.

The Accounts Department aims to provide management with accurate and timely information and to continually update and monitor its controls. It strives to be a professional internal service, providing guidance and advice to all departments, IBO’s and suppliers. It aims to educate all staff in the importance of keeping within agreed budgets.

• Scheduling tasks, offering supervision, guidance and advice to colleagues towards the timely and accurate completion of their responsibilities
• To allocate team responsibilities and tasks and monitor their timely completion
• Give advice, and guidance to team members on work policy and procedures
• To ensure that all team members are meeting reporting deadlines
• To develop through self awareness and training a positive disposition, greater job responsibilities and a team spirit
• To develop and promote strong organisational and communication skills resulting in efficient and effective work practices
• To have an awareness of departmental responsibilities and assist where capable
• To continually offer suggestions re improvement in policy and procedure
• To know the whereabouts of team members and to cover during periods of absence
• Training team members, and resolving issues within the Accounts Department
• Training as requested from other departments
• Answer queries from other departments
• To acquire knowledge and keep abreast of changes in marketing plans, business guides, products and trading policies, and internal systems that have a financial effect on the business.
• To be responsible for acquiring information on current topical issues e.g. fiscal (VAT , Taxation, Customs Tariffs and Import Duties ) that affect the operation of the business
