Theatre Scrub Nurse

Salary up to £34,000

I am working closely with a private hospital who is actively looking for experienced Scrub Practitioners to join their team to take on scrub and circulating duties for all specialities undertaken in the department. In this role the successful candidates will be required to practice safely, adhering to departmental policies and procedures, participating in the control and prevention of infection. They will be responsible for providing and delivering a high standard of care, contributing to the maintenance of a patient centred environment.

As an organised, motivated individual, candidates will work with both teams to provide a high quality service to patients and theatre users.

Key Responsibilities

As a Scrub Practitioner, you will be expected to actively participate in and maintain the highest standard of care and safety for patients, visitors and staff in the operating theatre suite Key duties will be:

- Being competent in all aspects of anaesthetic technique and procedures

- Maintaining accurate clinical observation of the patient's clinical condition and alerting medical staff when required

- Assisting in ensuring that the department is at all times clean and organised with sufficient supplies and equipment which are correctly cleaned, in working order and correctly stored

- Monitoring theatre procedures with regards to checking of swabs, needles and instruments

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • ODP/ RGN Qualification
  • HCPC/ NMC Registration
  • Previous Scrub Nurse Experience
  • Passion for high quality patient care
  • Surgical First Assistant course (desirable)
