Senior Management Accountant, London: Circa. £60,000 - £65,000 + benefits

For a global, commercial organisation operating in more than 60 countries, we're recruiting a Senior Management Accountant to report to the Finance Director. The Senior Management Accountant is a key position and will adopt a business partnering approach to support SMT with meaningful MI. The Senior Management Accountant will challenge SMT and provide robust MI for decision- making. This role is critical in the budget setting processes and in the construction of budget monitoring systems. With the organisation developing new projects and products this role is key in preparing and amending marketing plans for tendering for new business and managing the costing models.

Main Duties:

  • Provide MI to Directors and SMT, assisting them in achieving financial obligations
  • Prepare monthly management accounts including full variance analysis and annual forecasts
  • Provide timely and robust budgets and commentaries and challenge budgets accordingly
  • Produce year-end accounts and financial returns; main point of contact for external audit
  • Support SMT in understanding trends and anomalies
  • Prepare monthly financial income and expenditure reports
  • Prepare financial analysis for business cases, project plans, marketing plans, tender documents and other ad hoc analysis
  • Provide timely forecasts and commentaries to assist decision making
  • Assess the capital spend for the year and the impact for the following years programmes
  • Key role in establishing and maintaining costing models and ensuring accuracy of costing and pricing information provided
  • Lead in the production of year0end accounts and financial returns

Person Specification:

  • CCAB qualified accountant
  • Extensive experience of preparing accurate year end and monthly management accounts, including yearend forecasts
  • Extensive experience of business partnering with non-finance managers
  • Extensive experience of preparing costings for business cases
  • Extensive experience of budget setting and consolidation of budgets, challenging budget holders and full variance analysis
  • Experience of producing year-end accounting and managing interim and year-end audit
  • Experience of leading, developing and managing a small team of staff
  • Working knowledge of Sun Accounts and Vision (Q&A)
