Band 6 or Band 7 Occupational Therapist
We have an opportunity for a Locum Occupational therapist to join a mental health team within a trust which is recognised as a centre of excellence for mental health care, innovation and improvement.
The successful Occupational Therapist will be required to work within a low secure 15 bedded unit for males with a dual diagnosis of learning disabilities and severe mental health.
The service sets out to provide effective mental health care to help service users recover from a mental health crisis, and support their rehabilitation to get back on track with their lives.
This specific position will require the Occupational Therapist to carry out sensory assessments, so previous experience of this is vital for the role.
The ward has a multi-disciplinary team including mental health nurses, clinical support workers, clinical psychologists, a consultant psychiatrist and medical staff. They work in partnership with the outpatients team, care co-ordinators and social workers to support the patient through their inpatient stay.
The Occupational Therapist must have previous mental health experience, due to the low secure setting. Ideally they would have also worked within learning disabilities and forensics, but they will also consider someone who has a mixed mental health and paediatric background (with sensory assessment experience). They will consider applicants at both a band 6 and band 7 levels.
The role is NOT via direct engagement, so you can use an Umbrella company to be paid, if you so wish. The pay rate is negotiable - between £25.42 and £30.36 per hour (roughly £43K-£52K per annum).
This position is available on a full time, part time, or flexible basis. An IMMEDIATE start is available.
You do not need to be a car driver for this position.
