Maxxima is currently seeking a experienced Band 6 Biomedical Scientist in Biochemistry to fill a full time role in Surrey.

The starting pay rate for this locum Biomedical Scientist job is £22.00 to £24.00 per hour and is an ongoing role.

Times/shift pattern/flexible:1300-2100HRS Monday to Friday, 35 hours a week

General duties of the role:
- The post holder will be responsible for carrying out analytical work under the supervision of senior staff. There will be occasions when direct senior supervision will not be available and the post holder will take sole responsibility for their work.

- The post holder will rotate through all sections of the department.

- The key working relationships will be with staff in Biochemistry. The post holder will be expected to liaise with staff throughout pathology, other internal departments and external bodies e.g other hospital trusts as required.

- The post holder will be employed to run the Abbott Architect and do some TD work (that is our LIMS) producing TAT data and other information.

Requirements of the Biomedical Scientist role:

All applicants must have a relevant experience of working within an NHS or Private Pathology Laboratory. Candidates must also be HCPC registered and also have a Valid Working Holiday Visa, Ancestry Visa or EU Citizenship.

You must have:
- A minimum of 2 years post registered experience in Biochemistry.

- Experienced using Beckman and Abbott main platforms.

It is desirable if you have:
- Experience in clean room.

- Experience working in a routine diagnostic laboratory.
