About the Role:
A Good primary school in Hillingdon are looking for an experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to work with two statemented children, both of which are in Year 4. This role will see you working with two Year 4 children who have been statemented with Autism.

You will be working one of the children in the morning and the other pupil in the afternoon.
The child in the morning is learning at the same level as their peers, however, the teaching assistant will be required at times to scribe for the child and to take the child out of the classroom to be read too. The child has a keen interest in literacy and enjoys art.
The child in the afternoon child who has been statemented with ASD, is learning at Year 4 level, however, requires firm but fair behaviour management during breaks and lunchtimes.
The child has interest in reading and playing sports, such as Football and Rounders.
The school would be interested in meeting candidates with strong literacy skills, with a keen interest in creative arts/sports but this is not necessary, however, willingness to learn and adapt will be highly appealing.

About the school:
The school is based in Hillingdon, close to Hayes and Harlington overground station. The school is a forward thinking 3-Form entry primary school.

There is a higher than average of pupils with EAL, making up 75% of the school. Most of the children are from South Asian backgrounds, with a mixture of Somali and Arabic nationals.
There is also 10% of pupils in the school with SEN.

The school is a firm favourite with parents throughout the area due to the approach the school have working closely with parents to excel in academic success. The school also promote success through regular community events and fairs.

Rate of Pay and Working hours:
£70 - £80 per day depending on experience.
Your working hours will consist of 08:30am - 15:30pm, Monday to Friday with a 45-minute lunch and 1x 15-minute coffee break.

You must have recent and a minimum of six months' experience working in primary schools. This experience must be relative to this role. If you do not have this experience, we unfortunately will not be able to continue with your application.
