Product Owner - Digital and Systems

DFDS is 150 years old, but we recently referred to ourselves as the 150-year-old start-up: this is because we are undergoing a digital transformation. DFDS is significantly investing in Digital & IT capabilities, with a vision of the future. Our divisional digital & IT organisation has a broad scope and is designed to bring our freight shipping division swiftly towards a technology driven future.

As Product Owner, you will focus on the vision, requirements and release planning for company-wide digital products and features, and maximize the value of product development. You will inspire your team and stakeholders by bringing together disparate and competing priorities into a clear, compelling roadmap.

You will be responsible for:

  • Defining, championing and communicating the product vision and roadmap

  • Clarifying the vision and goals of the product with other members of scrum teams and ensuring that developers understand requirements

  • Connecting feature development to value streams and prioritising accordingly

  • The product backlog - ensuring that it is visible, communicated and understood by different audiences

  • Deciding when to release the product and services

  • Describing and documenting user stories and defining acceptance criteria

You will work closely with development teams, stakeholders from the business, members of the freight shipping Digital & IT Office. You will be based at our development office in Grimsby, UK and report to our Deputy Digital & IT Officer - Freight Shipping.

Experienced Scrum Product Owner

We are looking for a desired profile with at least three years of experience as a Scrum Product Owner, have a bachelor’s degree, experience with multi-national enterprise level software products, be PSPO certified (or equivalent) and have excellent communication skills.

The role will require travel, primarily in and around Europe.

Why?

We are looking for ambitious and dedicated people to be an integral part of our IT & Digital journey. Successful candidates will join a talented, passionate, and delivery-focused team within the business. All team members are expected to take ownership of their own responsibilities, further develop their own role, and contribute to the development and direction of the team as a whole.

Interested?

If you find the job interesting and you fulfil the expectations, please submit your CV and application in English by clicking SEND APPLICATION no later than Monday 26th February and preferably earlier, as we will evaluate applications on an ongoing basis.
