Financial Services Deal Advisory Manager
Exciting opportunity has arisen at an international consultancy firm who are growing their operation deals business within the financial services sector. They are looking for individuals with knowledge of the financial services sector, currently working in transaction services or restructuring, looking to develop their skills and move into the operational and more consultative side of deals.
This large international consultancy practice has a market leading deals division which comprises a number of specialist teams including Corporate Finance, Integration Advisory and Transactions Services. Their financial services deals team is the leading provider of deal advice to a wide range of Private Equity and Financial Services businesses in their transactions through the provision of buy and sell side due diligence, integration and separation and joint venture advisory (amongst others).
They are looking to grow its capability in operational due diligence and value creation and are embarking on a significant expansion plan for FY18. They have dramatically refreshed its approach to providing operational and value creation services which clients have enthusiastically welcomed.
My client is now looking for high calibre candidates to join the team and be part of the exciting growth plans they have for this business.
Support operating due diligence, carve-outs, stand alone cost assessments and corporate performance improvement projects from start to finish in a deal environment.
Help with successful problem formulation, hypotheses generation, comprehensive analysis in testing hypotheses, and problem resolution.
Be integral in the creation of value-add insights that tie to the client's strategic and financial ambitions, including identifying the underlying value proposition and challenging the client's near and long term investment thesis through structured data analyses to identify operational risks, efficiencies, or other opportunities.
Understand the broader Advisory service capabilities and offerings, for example Management Consulting and Restructuring, and collate and/ or leverage specialist's insights to ensure our clients get the best level of advice and support.
Ensure quality of own output and that of more juniors.
Setting scopes, budgets, generating information/data requests, creating and coordinating final deliverables, and assisting with presentation of results.
Support with risk management on engagements and liaise with the client leads.
When not working on a project, take a role in business development and support with the preparation, development and delivery of proposals.
Support the professional development of the FS operational due diligence team.
Strong experience in an Advisory related discipline at a Big 4 firm, major strategy firm, or boutique firm; ideally within a deals environment.
Experience in at least one of the following Advisory areas: Transaction Services, Operational and Corporate Performance Improvement, Restructuring and Turnaround, Strategic Growth, or other relevant strategy experience.
Knowledge of the financial services sector.
Bachelor's degree qualification.
ACA qualification preferable.
Strong business acumen, with analytical and problem solving skills and ability to understand how business model decisions impact operating model design/execution across operations, technology, risk governance and organizational design.
A strong grasp of Excel and the ability to analyse data at deal speed to provide robust and insightful client deliverables.
Comfort with ambiguity and fluid transaction/ consulting situations.
Desire to travel, fluency in a European language beneficial but not essential.
