Exciting opportunity has arisen at an international consultancy firm who are growing their operation deals business within the financial services sector. They are looking for individuals with knowledge of the financial services sector, currently working in transaction services or restructuring, looking to develop their skills and move into the operational and more consultative side of deals.

Client Details

This large international consultancy practice has a market leading deals division which comprises a number of specialist teams including Corporate Finance, Integration Advisory and Transactions Services. Their financial services deals team is the leading provider of deal advice to a wide range of Private Equity and Financial Services businesses in their transactions through the provision of buy and sell side due diligence, integration and separation and joint venture advisory (amongst others).

They are looking to grow its capability in operational due diligence and value creation and are embarking on a significant expansion plan for FY18. They have dramatically refreshed their approach providing operational and value creation services which clients have enthusiastically welcomed.

My client is now looking for high calibre candidates to join the team and be part of the exciting growth plans they have for this business.

Description

Lead operating due diligence, carve-outs, stand alone cost assessments and corporate performance improvement projects from start to finish in a deal environment. This includes setting scopes, budgets, staffing, generating information/data requests, leading client and target workshops, creating and coordinating final deliverables, and assisting with presentation of results.

Act as the day-to-day, full-time project manager to help ensure successful problem formulation, hypotheses generation, comprehensive analysis in testing hypotheses, and problem resolution.

Lead the team to create value-add insights that tie to the client's strategic and financial ambitions, including identifying the underlying value proposition and challenging the client's near and long term investment thesis through structured data analyses to identify operational risks, efficiencies, or other opportunities.

Ensure quality of output, co-ordinate and prepare the content for client delivery, including review with client and/or other advisors

Maintain responsibility for risk management on engagements and liaise with the client.

Provide oversight of skilled work teams throughout the project lifecycle and serve as the primary team interface with various levels of executives and team members.

Understand the broader Advisory service capabilities and offerings, for example Management Consulting and Restructuring, and leverage specialist's insights to ensure our clients get the best level of advice and support.

When you are not working on a project, you will take a lead role in business development and will lead the preparation, development and delivery of proposals.

Support the professional development of the FS operational due diligence team.

Profile

Substantial experience in an Advisory related discipline at a Big 4 firm, major strategy firm, or boutique firm; ideally within a deals environment.

Additional experience working within the financial services sector.

Experience in at least one of the following Advisory areas: Transaction Services, Operational a Corporate Performance Improvement, Restructuring and Turnaround, Strategic Growth, or other relevant strategy experience.

Bachelor's degree qualification.

ACA qualification or equivalent

Strong business acumen, with analytical and problem solving skills and ability to understand how business model decisions impact operating model design/execution across operations, technology, risk governance and organizational design.

A strong grasp of Excel and the ability to analyse data at deal speed to provide robust and insightful client deliverables.

Comfort with ambiguity and fluid transaction/ consulting situations.

Fluency in a European language beneficial but not essential.
