Job Summary:

A versatile role that requires you to be part of a successful maintenance team, working as the site mechanical engineer forming part of a cohesive unit that will provide support to all team members. Undertaking all other aspects of the site maintenance as required by site services manager.

Work to improve the facilities and to reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns aid in developing strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel and production processes.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Provide specialist mechanical knowledge.

To advise the site manager on mechanical works and plan as needed.

Carrying out routine scheduled maintenance work and responding to equipment faults or defects.

To support a 24 hour, call out service rota

Assist with external contractors, control and management.

Maintain accurate job and service records.

Provide assistance with the Installation of electrical and non-electrical equipment.

Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs.

Arranging specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components.

Controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment.

Additional works as required b site manager.


Ability to be flexible and adapt to changes as required to meet the needs of the business

Technical Competencies

Ability to use welding equipment to C&G 3268/3271 or greater

Experience fabricating projects and ad hoc systems

Experience of HVAC systems an advantage

Experience with Racking service, repairs and inspections

MHE and MWEP training an advantage

Competent in Microsoft packages including Excel, Word and Outlook Demonstrate a good track record of achieving results.

Experience in use of planned Preventative Maintenance Systems.

Experience of working with an Ammonia Refrigeration Plant would be an advantage but not essential.

Previous experience working within production and warehouse environment
