Communications and Marketing Manager

Salary: £21 - £26 per hour

Location: Manchester

Duration: 3 months with possible extension

An experienced Communications and Marketing Manager with a broad mix of skills and experience is required to start as soon as possible within a busy public sector organisation.

The purpose of the Communications and Marketing Manager is to have oversight of all communications activity and to develop, lead and implement a new and exciting marketing and engagement strategy.

Key responsibilities of the Communications and Marketing Manager:

  • The Communications and Marketing Manager will use specialist communications, marketing and project management knowledge and skills to devise integrated multi-channel marketing campaigns to include online and offline methods.
  • To develop and foster an innovative approach to marketing and engagement strategies through the use of a wide range of social media.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to positively promote and think outside of the box and find new ways to engage.
  • Oversee the production of corporate publications as appropriate.
  • Monitor the success of communications and marketing activity using data and other insight to understand stakeholder behaviour and touch points, adjusting and refining approaches to meet objectives.
  • Evaluate communications data, analyse findings, produce reports where necessary and share learning across the team and wider.
  • Actively participate in and support strategic conversations; lead on resulting action plans.
  • Provide communications and marketing advice and guidance to the internal team; enthuse and mentor colleagues to embrace digital communications.
  • Manage specific elements of communications budgets.
  • Identify opportunities and develop engaging digital content.
  • Develop effective professional working relationships with partner and stakeholder organisations, and suppliers.
  • Manage and support the production of copy for a range of audiences, purposes and outputs.

The Person:

To be a successful candidate for the position of Communications and Marketing Manager you must be a team player, flexible and responsive to the needs of colleagues. You must also possess a strong working knowledge of social media and be able to interpret complex information and turn this in to material appropriate for the audience. Experience of dealing with and communicating complex and/or sensitive information to a range of audiences is essential.
