The business focuses on developing high quality residential homes in the private rented sector to be held long term, with the business being an exemplary landlord.

The new homes are being developed with a close view to the target audience - people with busy lives who are not ready to buy and want stylish places to live.

Description

  • To develop the use of the finance systems to deliver an efficient and effective service to internal and external customers, including HMRC VAT returns and Corporation Tax returns.
  • To develop the accounting, reporting and budgeting/forecasting processes in support of budget holders and the finance team, including capital expenditure.
  • Ensuring strong financial control across the organisation and that all reconciliations and related financial controls are competed in a timely manner.
  • In conjunction with budget holders, lead the budget setting cycle to assist them in identifying and achieving value for money and efficiency savings.
  • Work with managers to develop reporting and performance indicators to monitor performance and make improvements. Analyse and investigate variances from budget and producing reports to assist management control.
  • Carry out analysis to assist in evaluating business decisions/processes.
  • Provide support at the year-end for the production of the financial statements.
  • Provide support on projects to deliver continuous improvement in the delivery of financial and management accounting.
  • You are also required to undertake any other duties within your capabilities as may be reasonably required.
  • Projects/SPV structure/multi-company reporting/Group consolidation

Profile

  • Proven experience working in a business facing or business partnering finance role in a complex organisation with large expenditure/project budgets.
  • Proven experience of preparing management accounts.
  • Experience of reviewing and analysing financial information and reporting on results.
  • Good attention to detail with an ability to understand wider picture and an ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload and projects to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Good analytical skills and the ability to link financial performance and management information.
  • The ability to understand business operations and the related drivers and risks
  • Able to challenge, engage, influence and add value at a senior operational level and within the wider senior finance team.
  • Excellent oral and written communications and the ability to present effectively to varying levels in an organisation.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Able to get on and work with little supervision and use knowledge and initiative to complete tasks
  • Experience of implementing/developing finance systems.
