Our client is a world class OEM who specialise in manufacture of CNC machinery and due to their continued success Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Service Engineer.

The position is as a field based engineer and you will be required to travel throughout the UK to provide on-site service,maintenance and repair activities.

The Role:

Reporting to the Service Manager you will be assigned to visit customer premises to undertake service maintenance and repair work on a range of CNC controlled manufacturing equipment including but not limited to the following;

Routers, borers, tenoners, edge-banders, saws and sanding machines

Full training will be provided and initially you will undertake a shadow programme for hands on training as well as company in house technical training.

Mechanical maintenance activities will involve the removal and replacement on broken and worn component parts such as chains, sprockets, linear bearings, and ball screws.

In addition you will be required to carryout fault find and repair work on pneumatics and hydraulics.

Electrical maintenance work will include fault find and repair on motors, servos, 415v and 24v circuits (ability to read electrical schematics/drawings is essential). Some PLC work including checking outputs / inputs will be required.

The work will involve frequent travel throughout the UK and also to Europe for product training.


We are seeking applicants who have at least five years previous electrical maintenance experience preferably on CNC or other 3 phase machinery e.g. CNC or automated packaging machinery.

You will hold 17th edition electrical certification and will be competent in reading electrical drawings, fault find and repair.

You will have good mechanical engineering skills.

You will be ebthusiastic, hard-working and you will display a friendly outgoing personality.

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday (days) 37.5 hour week + OT
