A leading Lloyd's Managing Agency seek a Financial Lines Claims Adjuster. Responsibility for handling financial and professional lines claims emanating from all policies written by the company's European claims operation and taking technical referral from and overseeing third party administrators, adjusters and lawyers with delegated claims authority.

Applicants will need experience of handling Professional Indemnity and D&O claims.

Key Accountabilities

Handle financial and professional lines claims emanating from all policies written by the company's claims operation in accordance with Claims Philosophy and Claims Guidelines meeting the service levels set out therein to ensure exceptional customer experience;
Propose strategy for handling claims emanating from their European book, recruit and manage staff and external consultants as necessary;
Develop the panel of lawyers, adjusters and third party administrators and to assist with initial triage and handling of claims (subject to a delegated authority) across various European jurisdictions;
Take technical referral from external parties with delegated claims authority and oversee their performance to ensure they are handling claims in accordance with required service levels;
Prepare monthly reports and quarterly Board Reports on significant claims developments, trends, market issues/opportunities and portfolio analysis to Head of Claims, Senior Management and underwriter;
Maintain strong relationships with other insurer, brokers, lawyers and adjusters to be able to obtain claims information on losses;
Lead enhancements to the claims system and design further claims reports for portfolio analysis;
Proactively and continually seek to identify and implement improvements to streamline the European claims processes, procedures and systems to drive efficiency whilst promoting best practice and reduce the level of manual or non-value added tasks undertaken by claims handlers;

Role Requirements

Strong proven track record in handling complex Financial and Professional lines and Directors' and Officers'claims
Experience in handling claims in multiple European jurisdictions with good relationships with local counsel and adjusters
Ability to understand and apply regulatory and legal requirements in the claims context
Detailed knowledge of claims life cycle and ability to develop best practice with claims experience
Fluency in second European language beneficial
