Hays Accountancy & Finance is recruiting for a permanent job opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join an established organisation in Wigan. This opportunity has arisen due to the retirement of a long-term member of staff. You will join an organisation who pride themselves on their employee retention record, have operated in Wigan for over eighteen years and offer a supportive work environment.

Your new role
Your job as an Accounts Assistant will involve managing the purchase ledger process, particularly generating and processing payments. You will also be responsible for processing expenses, daily bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts and generating payments via online banking systems. You will undertake control account reconciliations and will operate in a multi-currency environment. You will work within a well-established team in an open plan office on a Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm basis.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this application you will ideally be an experienced Accounts Assistant with an interest in working for an organisation which forms part of a larger international group. You should be familiar with accounts payable processes and bank reconciliations, with strong numeracy and IT skills. You must be confident in the use of Microsoft Excel. Experience of other Microsoft products, such as Word and Access. You will be dealing with complex accounts so must have excellent attention to detail and confidence in resolving any issues that arise.
