Purpose of the Role:

General support to the Accounts Department and to assist with the financial accounting and reporting activities.


  • Daily Bank reconciliations
  • Posting and preparing Sales invoices
  • Credit control
  • Processing employee expenses
  • Credit card reconciliations
  • Processing fortnightly suppliers BACs payment
  • Arranging other ad-hoc payments on the bank
  • Assisting with the weekly cash flow scorecard and forecasting future cash flow
  • Calculating the tax reclaim on fuel to feed into the VAT Return
  • Assisting in maintaining an accurate order book and ensuring new projects are booked into the system accurately
  • Assisting the Financial Accountant with the preparation of posting prepayments, accruals and other general ledger journal entries
  • Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register and assisting with the calculation of monthly depreciation
  • Monitoring company expenditure and raising POs in accordance with company procedure
  • Helping prepare intercompany recharges and assisting inter-companies related tasks
  • Helping to reconcile the Balance Sheet to ensure accuracy
  • Working with the Marketing Team to reconcile the Marketing budget and forecast
  • Assisting the Financial Accountant with information to feed into the production of budget and forecast
  • Liaising with external parties for any queries that may arise, e.g. Suppliers, HRMC, Bank etc.
  • Assisting in general office admin tasks, including answering the phone, filling and general office work and covering for the Corporate Administrator with hotel bookings and Reception.


  • Preferably Accounts experience in a similar role
  • Good level of IT literacy including Excel (Intermediate - would be an advantage)
  • Experience of using multi systems, knowledge of QuickBooks and SharePoint (would be an advantage)
  • Strong financial control skills and being able to work to deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with both finance and non-finance staff and communicate at all levels of the business
