Sewell Wallis are delighted to be working with a well established professional services business based in Leeds centre who are looking to expand their current finance team. This role would suit an individual who would like more support and development, in order to progress through their studies and have more exposure on month end processes.

The business are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant, who would work closely with the Finance Business Partners in order to deliver accurate and timely management information.

The main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Supporting the Finance Business Partner's in analysis of management accounts for the different divisions to include identification and reconciliation of variances to budget.
Work closely with the centralised management accounting team in order to understand the build-up of the P&L and liaise with them to understand variances and post corrections etc where necessary.
Participate and input into MI improvement projects which will also entail helping with reconciliations and testing of new reports and specifying reports based on MI requirements identified.
Work with non-financial managers and operational staff across the business.
Producing daily, weekly & periodic financial information to the business to drive performance.
Other ad hoc reconciliations as required.

The ideal candidate will be:

Preferably studying ACCA/CIMA; and/or AAT qualified; and/or have a relevant Degree, with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
Have experience of financial control and management information reporting.
Must be a strong communicator, comfortable with dealing with finance, non-finance colleagues and senior team members.
Competent with excel and other Office applications.
Must be able to work independently and have close attention to detail.
