We are looking for a Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our well established and experienced team at Birchwood, Oldham. The service is a 16 bed rehabilitation service offering support to both men and women from the Oldham and surrounding region. We specialise in helping people move on to Independent Community Living after lengthy period on hospitals wards. Our team is made up of Registered Mental Health Nurses, Support Workers, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Staff, together we provide the resources that enables people to build upon their recovery and achieve their goals. We work collaboratively with community Mental and Physical Health Services to ensure people have the best chance of success.
If you are someone who understands the importance of recovery and are passionate about seeing people achieve their best, then we want to hear from you. We need you to be a Registered Mental Health Nurse, have an understanding of recovery models and approaches and have a good understanding of mental health issues and the way in which they are managed and knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Care Program Approach. This role will involve working a full range of shifts, including early, late, nights, weekends and bank holidays. We will also require that you complete our mandatory training.
In addition we can support newly qualified nurses to complete their preceptorships. You will be supported by an experienced practitioner to develop your confidence, refine your skills, values and behaviours allowing you to provide care confidently. The salary for a newly qualified nurse working through their preceptorship is £23,000 pa which rises to £25,000 once the programme has been successfully completed.
