Job Description
This role supports the growth of the Schemes portfolio by building and maintaining partnerships with key brokers and delivering a consistently brilliant customer experience. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of risks and providing technical, process and governance support to a range of customers and brokers. You will be expected to provide training and coaching to less experienced colleagues, and ensure you develop and maintain your own specialist sector and market knowledge. You will need to build effective working relationships across all the functions who are involved in the life-cycle of schemes business and manage your portfolio of schemes in line within the standard operating procedures. There will be a requirement to have a detailed knowledge of the RSA schemes propositions, and be able to explain these propositions to our customers so they have a clear understanding of their value. You will need to show you have the required oversight of the arrangements you manage and to ensure our brokers deliver on their obligations under the terms of their agreement with us.

The role will be based out of the Manchester Trading Centre but will require travel to attend internal/external meetings.

Responsibilities
* Managing and trading cases which fall outside delegated authority appetite or arrangements
* Responding to customer referrals on complex cases and referrals from internal customers in a timely & qualitative way
* Building and maintaining effective matrix relationships both in the P&L and with aligned teams to ensure effective management across the scheme lifecycle
* Building and maintaining relationships with key brokers and customers so that you fully understand their strategy, culture, personalities, customer base and decision making
* Ensuring that Brokers and customers understand our schemes proposition and also the wider RSA proposition
* Supporting external validation activity as required in line with group policy
* Actively coaching peer group & lessexperienced team members to support their personal & professional development
* Developing specialist expertise to ensure our proposition delivers the optimal result for RSA & the best experience for our customers
* Clearly and positively articulating our schemes proposition
* Analysis of any individual scheme performance and delivery of required action
* Complying with Group, Legal and regulatory requirements

The Individual
* Proven track record of underwriting commercial products (ideally Commercial Combined or Schemes)
* Evidence of detailed knowledge of the legal, regulatory and control processes which govern delegated business
* Ability to develop, coach and train less experienced colleagues
* Track record of delivering stretching business goals in a challenging environment
* Proven experience of managing relationships outside own immediate team and across a wide variety of business functions
* Experience of strong broker relationship management skills and an ability to make independent decisions
* Ability to analyse and interpret data and use this to take required action
* Creative with strong motivation to drive the team forward
