Data Analyst

Brief Overview

My client is currently seeking a Data Analyst to join their team.

The objective of the role is to work as part of a team, to understand data issues and anomalies with asset data on particular programmes of work. You will be required to provide insight, analysis and data solutions through clear visual, written and verbal communication that lead to setting out requirements, and initiating work streams and deliverables on programmes of work.

Experience/Key Skills

  • Supports portfolio manager in gathering, understanding and documenting detailed business data requirements using appropriate tools and techniques to enable the initiation of workstreams.
  • Manipulate, analyse and interpret complex data sets relating to the client's business.
  • Mine and analyse large datasets, draw valid inferences and present them successfully to management and SPEN asset data experts using appropriate tools and format.
  • Provides support and guidance to the technical team in the creation of workstream work packages, ensuring a fit for purpose, auditable and current view maintained throughout project stage gate lifecycle.
  • Works in line with agreed project process flows to allow timely authorisation of workstream stage gates for planned work packages.
  • Undertakes a level of self-quality assurance of work and ensures accuracy and consistency of updates to client network in accordance with project standards, procedures and processes.
  • As necessary, supports Portfolio Manager in maintaining cross business working relationship with project Stakeholders through meeting attendance and forums, specifically:
  • Data Management Teams
  • RTS PowerOn Teams
  • SPEN Asset Data & Asset Management Business Leads
  • Project Network Engineer
  • Where required, assists team by performing higher-level, more complex systems (SAP/PowerOn) data manipulation.
  • Interfaces with other staff members to promote efficient work management and consistency and adherence in standards, procedures and processes, developing a culture of delivery and completion
  • Ensuring high integrity and timely delivery of role related tasks set out by Portfolio Manager and Programme Manager.
  • Providing ongoing management support to the Portfolio Manager to aid in the development of a highly motivated and driven team.
  • Represents Data Quality Portfolio Manager as required.
  • Performs other related duties as required by Portfolio Manager and Programme Manager.
