Be Personnel are looking to recruit a Specialist Mentor to work with our University & College clients in Edinburgh. This role will require you to work with referred students to deliver specialist mental health mentoring sessions and interventions for students to promote independence and enable students to fully reach their potential and maximise their academic experience.

Mentor's will utilise a full understanding of their specialist mental health field in contributing to the work activities of Student Support Services for our clients.

The ideal candidate will ideally hold a degree, a teaching qualification and have comprehensive training in adult autism which must include one of the following:

- All 5 NAS core autism online training modules (Understanding Autism; Autism & Communication; Autism & Sensory Experience; Autism, Stress & Anxiety; Autism: Supporting families)

OR

- NAS tutor-led course 'Understanding Autism'

OR

- 'Introduction to autism and the SPELL framework'

OR

- Any other training, including at a Higher Education institution delivered by an appropriately qualified trainer from a recognised organisation or charity who can demonstrate a relevant qualification in autism support

OR

- A Post Graduate certificate in Autism or Aspergers

Furthermore, it is desired applicants will have have a background in provision of working closely with students or young individuals with Mental Health related issues and an awareness of the challenges that specific learning difficulties place on students in higher education and the aids and strategies they'd use to support students in this setting.

This position will vary in hours on a weekly basis depending on student demand. It is estimated the successful applicant will be assigned between 10 and 12 students across Edinburgh.

Location: Central Scotland (Glasgow, Dundee & Fife)

Pay Rate: £32.17 per hour

It is highly desirable the successful candidate has a full driving license as locations of work will vary.
