Role purpose:


To drive the operational excellence of Data services and successful deployment of related projects, taking the technical lead and responsibility in a team encompassing: 2G, 3G, 4G, WiFi and other associated technologies.


To maintain the domain infrastructure throughout its lifecycle in order to ensure Services are delivered at the required level of availability and performance through pro-active service assurance.


To restore any part of the domain infrastructure to normal service in a timely, safe and effective manner.

Responsibilities:


Own and manage relationships with suppliers and key internal stakeholders in order to achieve SLAs and improve network KPIs, drive the service availability towards 99.99% or greater.

Participate in the Service Operations Management System (SOMS). Ensure compliance to theISO-20K with the IP-Services.

Deputise for your manager and act as a point of contact for Customer impacting service issues where it is necessary to make business critical decisions regarding operational support, delivery, maintenance and stability for packet data services.

Mission Critical systems you will be responsible for include GGSN, SGSN, SPGW, MME, Diameter Gateway, PCRF, PCEF, RADIUS and Access Control Filters as examples

Drive resolution of high profile escalated and complex customer issues to minimise outage durations

Support and resolve incident and problems on the production and staging environments.

Drive root cause analysis to identify corrective actions and permanent fixes, challenge/check RCAs delivered by suppliers

Ensure all work is carried out and documented in accordance with required standards, methods and procedures and drives improvements to such procedures

Participate in and chair conference calls and Operational Review Meetings, guiding actions towards Vodafone requirements.

Monitor third party performance against support SLAs and escalate issues with line manager and/or supplier.

Experience/Skills:


Significant Operational Packet Core experience

Strong internal & external stakeholder management

Cisco CCNA Qualification

Beneficial - Unix administration/Virtualisation/Scripting/SDN/DevOps

Beneficial – Relevant degree
